community colleges

my eye is much better now after a couple of days of placing warm tea bags and boiled eggs on it. (thanks to cecil.)

i'm not sure if i'm liking the working a full day and then having to go to class afterward schedule that i experienced earlier in the week. my community college class is great. however, i'm not too excited about my seminar class, though there's not really that much work involved. granted, no insane amount of papers. just a great deal of reading, but i think the readings are going to be interesting. they are mostly on leadership, which, if i want to strive to be a supervisor, it will come in handy.

after a hectic beginning of the week, i have today off. it's nice. incredibly nice. i can relax, read, get some errands completed, and breathe.

there is much to be said about community colleges. but then i'm too weary to get into it here. i guess the main thing is that community colleges exist to give those who want to a second, third, etc. chance in life. one can argue that four-year institutions are also established for that same purpose. but where can you go to get an education that costs $26/unit in the state of california.

certainly not 'sc. no chance in hell.

it's all about access.

btw, happy september everyone.
