no, you can't fucking smoke, biatch!
you know, i can totally understand banning smoking indoors. but outdoors? that's a little ridiculous. not that i mind either way, but where can people smoke anymore?
a proposal to ban smoking in santa monica has been approved by the city's council and an ordinance is being drafted.
if people really want to do away with second-hand smoke, why not deal with the pollution that comes from cars, factories, etc., etc. the air quality in los angeles isn't great, and i highly doubt curbing second-hand smoke is going to do much to make it better.
i went on an interview last tuesday for a temporary, full-time position at LA valley college in van nuys. i got the job and decided to take it. even though it's temporary and doesn't have benefits, it pays well (for the most part) and i need the money anyway. the problem is that it's an 8am-4:30pm job, which means my nightlife, if you want to call it that, will be over.
so with this full-time position, my plan to finish up my graduate degree will be postponed until next may. i'll be taking two classes this upcoming semester and will finish it up in the spring. not that it would make any difference since the graduation ceremony only takes place in may. but it would be such a relieve to finish up the program anyhow.
i'm currently listening to climie fisher's "rise to the occasion," which is really good. randomly heard it on winamp and decided to get it.
it's been fucking hot the past month or so and of course, with the air con on for the majority of the day, our electric bill is up. for some reason, i hate having to pay for electricity. i don't know why i felt the need to share that tidbit of info, but there you go.
time for bed. i have to get into work early tomorrow. *sigh* i hate my early friday schedule.
