i don't read nearly enough. i think i have reading ADD. i can't seem to concentrate on what i'm reading and i end up reading the same line over and over again but not digesting it fully. it's a problem.

this past weekend, i went to see a career counselor who works at biola university. it was a step in the right direction, i think. i'm stuck in a rut, and i needed a jump start of sorts. linda, the cc, is an incredibly nice and affable person. we talked and talked... well i talked and talked and she just sat there and analyzed me. it was pretty interesting. i think the thing i liked about her was that she wasn't judgmental. she accepted the way i am, even when i told her that i never get to work on time and that my sister and i used to get into fist-fights. she gave me a book to read and told me to look over all my tests... reading, aaaargh! (the book is interesting though).

she also pointed out why my plants are dying. i need to re-pot my plants. it's probably too late to save them now.

something new i learned today: in the song, "heavenly action" by erasure, the line is, angel made in heaven, not angel baby heaven.

i also spent like 3 hours on friendster.com because i didn't want to start on some urgent work at work. oh well, there's always tomorrow.

remember with a little skill and knowledge, your talent can become your strength!

whoo, i must have slept through august. what a nice nap. i'm always amazed at the people who can blog daily. sometimes, i just need to take a break from all this. but now i'm back, so let's see what i've been up to for the past 6 weeks.

- i finally met up with francine again. who's francine you ask? she's actually an ex-girlfriend of a friend of mine. we'd met once a long, long time ago (i can still remember how the music used to make me smile...) at jason's bday party. but i had totally forgotten what she looked like and we didn't really talk much that day. anyway, saw her again and it was really cool. oh, yes, she is one wacky lady.

- played some grass vball, which was fun. i'm only blogging this cuz i'm surprised, and a little proud, at myself that i had the willpower to actually get my ass out of the house to go exercise. in the course of playing, i, 1. hit the vball into jason's crotch and i couldn't stop laughing for 10 minutes, 2. roofed both kevin and jay, and 3. got a jump serve in. i am my own vball god. "i own you!"

- hung out with carlin, cecil, chris and jenny at this boba shop in san gabriel 3-4 nights a week. needless to say, the people there recognize us now. why, just yesterday, one of the girls working there, found out i spoke cantonese and gave us a bag of free korean chips. how cool is that? rachel and frances rock.

- went to work out on saturday for the first time in about half a year with chris, jenny and cecil. i don't want to talk about it, but let's just say that i'm in pain still. i do however, want to go swimming again. i didn't get enough of it on saturday. oh, i want to get back into running as well; i miss it somewhat.

- got a raise at work, but that's just going straight to the $100 rent increase my landlord implimented in august. what a fucker. oh well, it's still cheap by any standard. hmm... my prof finally hired someone who is white and is my age to work in the office. what is this world coming to? oh, yeah, i hate stupid people that have no common sense. it's so fucking annoying to me. for example, this coworker of mine, comes into my office to ask me why someone was laid off. like i'm suppose to know? (i do) but i've told her before, and now she's asking me again. it's like, fuck do you have a fucking brain?

- got a new tv, but you already knew that. got some new jeans and pants. new dvds. that's about it. oh, just remembered, i actually went and got the new beyonce album. i know, it's a bit embarrassing to admit to it, but what can i said, that "crazy for love" song is somewhat addictive.

- celebrated jay's and rob's birthday at some mexican food place that was highly enjoyable. gardens of taxco up in hollywood. there are no menus... none. you go in, and there's this waiter, who speaks/sings to you what they have. then you pretty much order either fish, meat, pork or shrimp. then you start eating (5 course meal, 2 appetitizers, soup, main course and dessert). they also have this guy who roams around singing songs with his guitar. we learned that night that cecil can't roll her tongue on command. oh, their wine margaritas is incredible. tasty. i would go again, but just don't let the valet drive your car up the steep inclined driveway.

- also went to this italian place several fridays ago called alejo's. had the seafood pasta which was pretty good. the ambience wasn't as nice, but the food was pretty good. they should bring the food out when it's hot though, cuz mine was a bit cold. hmm... wait, never mind, it's probably cuz i was right underneath a freaking vent and they had the air con on up way high.

- on one particular sunday, i went to visit an old family friend of my parents who just came into town the day before. since my parent's friend was a priest of the catholic persuasion, i got hornswoggled into going back to the church that i had attended when i was a wee lad. i was amazed at all the changes and transformation that took place after my decade of absence. there were many faces i couldn't recognized, but those that i did, it was a bit overwhelming to see patches of white in what used to be fully black heads of hair. father paul (the family friend) was celebrating mass, and since i was late (as usual), i stayed in the foyer of the church. when i approached him after mass, it took him a while to realize who i was; it's been that long. so we exchanged greetings, chatted for a bit, took a couple of pictures. then the dreaded question: "so you don't believe anymore." what can i say, it's not my thing. he said, he'll pray for me. thanks very much.

- i have a craving for good chinese food. not that panda express shit, but i mean real fucking chinese food. i don't care if it's dog meat or cat meat, i want some fucking authentic chinese food. i wonder what they taste like. on another note, my favorite food when i go back to hk is soy sauce flavored geese. it's delicious. yum!

that's all i can think of right now. i'll let you know if anything comes up.

i promise.
