OCT, where the fuck are you?

i got to bed a little bit after 2am this morning cuz i was trying to catch the new episode of coupling on bbc america. i finally got the series 3 dvd over the weekend, and although the acting and story were great, there were only seven episodes. a little disappointing in that respect.

at 6:45am, deidra started yelling for me to get up. the hamster was gone. it's a bit disconcerting when you're in the middle of sleep and your girlfriend is yelling at you because the hamster is not in his cage.

so we walked around the house looking for him. she suggested that maybe one of the kitties wounded him and took him somewhere to finish him off. and i was like, great, the house's going to smell funky for awhile.

after 10 minutes of looking around for OCT, i noticed that milton was missing as well. i started looking around for him and i suddently realized that if i find him, i'll find OCT as well. and i knew exactly where to look.

so i pulled aside a set of drawers from under the computer room bed, and saw milton crawling out (cuz he's a little bit afraid of me) and there between a suitcase and several tin boxes of stuff, i saw OCT's little head popping out of the space.

deidra had put the idea in my head that OCT could be hurt because the kitties could have used him as a scratching post. so i was a bit hesitant in trying to grab him. so instead, i had deidra grab me some hamster food and a plate and the little ball he rolls around in, hoping that he'd crawl inside and i can inspect him.

after several minutes of poking his head and body out and then crawling back into the slot between the suitcase and tin boxes, i finally got him to crawl into the roller ball. he seemed to be alright. all of his extremities were there and there weren't any signs of blood anywhere on him. so after putting him in his case, i twisty-tied the door. i don't want to have to look for him again.

you wonder why i'm telling you this story, right? well, i just want to rant about how i'd only slept 4.5 hours and i'm not too pleased about it. that's all.

i did, however, clean up the porch area that deidra's been bugging me for the last month and half yesterday. it beats having to watch the nba finals. how ugly can these games get? and i can't believe the lakers are fouling THAT much. the second quarter was rubbish. penalty with 8:30 minutes to go? fucking rubbish.
