so close...

well, it was horrible to watch the bruins lose two nights ago. it hurts, but the silver-lining is that the team will only get better next year. go bruins.

i got a lot of flack from the folks over at the 'bucks. painful.

a new song that i enjoy is by this group called neutral milk hotel. yeah, it's a very, very strange name for a group, but their song, "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea," is really good.

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
Soft and sweet
Let me hold it close and keep it here with me

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see
Love to be
In the arms of all I'm keeping here with me

What a curious life we have found here tonight
There is music that sounds from the streets.
There are lights in the clouds
Anna's ghost all around
Hear her voice as it's rolling and ringing through me
Soft and sweet
How the notes all bend and reach above the trees

Now how I remember you
How I would push my fingers through
Your mouth to make those muscles move
That made your voice so smooth and sweet
But now we keep where we don't know
All secrets sleep in winter clothes
With one you loved so long ago
Now he don't even know his name

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
And when we meet on a cloud
I'll be laughing out loud
I'll be laughing with everyone I see
Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all

i don't really know how anyone can transcribe for a living. it's insane. i'm working on a research study for one of my classes (ethnography) and i'm in the midst of transcribing my interviews. this has to be the most tedious work i've ever done in my life. and believe me, i've done a lot of tedious work in my life. the worst part is that you can't even listen to music at all and i can't work like that.

i woke up last night to my ceiling leaking, which isn't at all very nice. i remember thinking to myself, why is it that i feel like i'm getting water on my face? and of course, when i woke up, i realized that the drops of water dripping from my ceiling was actually hitting the night stand, which resulted with some of it splattering all over my face.

i think my apartment manager is not very effective in getting things fixed for our place. first, the window that was broken ever since we moved in (october) still isn't fixed. so i called him this morning and he said that he was going to come by at noon to fix it. that didn't happen. so yay for that.

to make the day even more spectacular than it was, when i went to do another interview, i was told that the instructor wasn't in and that all the students had left already. i guess it was good that i actually went and got some more transcribing done.

sometimes i wonder about graduate school.
